WE CANNOT AFFORD TO ALLOW POLITICIANS TO DILUTE OUR CIVIL RIGHTS

Jules: Just a short while ago, a federal judge in Hawaii put a stop to President Trump’s latest Muslim ban only a few hours before it was set to go into effect at midnight. Once again, the rule of law has prevailed. We are of course happy with this result but recognize that the fight is far from over. The only way to fix a Muslim ban is to get rid of it permanently, and the Trump Administration has shown no sign of giving up this fight. But make no mistake, neither will we.

The ACLU is going to continue to fight President Trump in the courts, and with the launch of People Power we are taking the fight to the streets as well. But that means we can’t rest on tonight’s victory or the massive organizing success of our Resistance Training last weekend. We must keep going. So I have to ask you to do something important:

I know that right after the election there was a tremendous amount of fear and angst about what it means to have Donald Trump as our president for the next four years.
